JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Warehouse/Delivery Driver
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Minimum, High School Diploma
2. Commercial Driver’s License, Class B required or must be able to obtain within 90 days of employment
3. Working knowledge of warehousing and inventory controls
4. Must possess and demonstrate the ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g. Forklift, pallet jack, hand trucks,etc.)
5. Must be able to physically perform work exerting up to
100 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of
force constantly to move objects 6. 6. Ability to understand written procedures, write routine documents, speak clearly, and understand complex, multi-step written and oral instructions.
REPORTS TO: Director of Fiscal Services/Finance Officer
JOB GOAL: Perform warehousing duties accurately and efficiently, including loading and unloading orders, maintaining the warehouse, transporting orders of equipment, supplies, and materials to the schools and offices, and ensuring safe operation of vehicles.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBIITIES:
- Loads and unloads materials and supplies using available warehouse equipment.
- Receives stock and non-stock items to insure quality and quantity of products.
- Assembles/disassembles furniture and equipment as may be required for the purpose of providing items in working order or for delivery
- Drives small, medium-sized, or large capacity vehicles to transport materials to and from specific destinations.
- Inspects vehicle equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water, and requests service and repairs as needed. Maintains telephone contact with supervisor.
- Delivers equipment, materials, and supplies to the schools and offices of the system.
- Prepares receipts and/or obtains signatures for deliveries.
- Sorts packages and other materials and supplies for the purpose of distributing items to assigned sites and /or individuals.
- Cleans warehouse for the purpose of maintaining an organized layout and safe work environments
- Participates in physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stocks and identifying losses
- Responds to inquiries of staff and vendors for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the status of deliveries, backorders, damaged items Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
- Assists with tagging and recording fixed assets
- Other duties as assigned
SALARY: Edgecombe County Public Schools Classified Salary Schedule
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Employee must wear slip-resistant footwear while performing job responsibilities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months/8 hours per day, or as determined by funding/program needs
EVALUATION: Annually, Personnel Appraisal Instrument
