JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:                    Maintenance Mechanic III (Hardware)

QUALIFICATIONS:   

1. High School Diploma or GED

2. 2 years of work-related experience, preferred

3. Eligible to obtain a CDL license

4. Computer literate

5. Able to perform heavy work, exerting 100 pounds of force occasionally and 30 pounds of  

force frequently or constantly, to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects       

6. Able to work for an extended period of time in uncontrolled environments and be exposed to very hot or cold temperatures, high levels of noise and vibration, smoke, dust, and other

hazards              

REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance

JOB GOAL: Perform skilled duties in various trade areas to effectively maintain school buildings, equipment, and grounds within the school system

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Receive oral and written orders and review them to determine the type of project and general personnel skills to be used.

2. Plan project work schedules and place orders for necessary materials and equipment to perform the project.

3. Understand and follow safe work practices at all times.

4. Recognize and use general-purpose hand tools.

5. Operate heavy equipment.

6. Responsible for the safe condition of all hardware systems in the school system.

7. Ability to maintain proper hardware certifications.

8. Perform such other duties as required by the supervisor.
